Dr. Fenny Ang
Senior Partner, Organisational Design
Dr. Fenny Ang has more than 20 years of management consulting and HR practitioner experiences in both the corporate and NGO sectors across Asia Pacific. She is currently based in Shanghai, China, providing executive coaching, change management consulting and leadership development training for several multi-national companies such as iRobot, Cargill, AirBnB, Swire Beverage, SCMC-Coca Cola and Twinings Tea. She also provides cross-cultural coaching and training to increase these MNCs’ cultural resilience in navigating in complex environments.
Dr. Ang is a Professional Certified Coach (PCCTM) and her coaching repertoire extends to team coaching, career transition and outplacement coaching. As an executive coach, Fenny works with senior executives to develop their personal and team leadership capabilities. She has expertise in helping leaders to successfully transition into senior leadership roles, build productive teams or navigate through challenging organization transitions (e.g. M&A, restructuring and layoffs). Her recent projects focus on upskilling managers in leading and managing transformational change in their teams, and helping executives navigate successfully in cross-cultural terrains. Past clients have included FMCG companies, such as Nestle, SG Johnson and Unilever.
Dr. Ang has long experiences in practice previous to her consulting career. Her career has included tenures in IBM China as a senior managing consultant, responsible for the development of the Multi-National Banks’ portfolio in the Greater China Group. In her early career, she has worked for more than 10 years in Accenture – one of the largest global management consulting companies – where she served as a change management specialist. Her specialty included change management, customer relationship management, leadership development and organization design. Dr. Ang has also worked as an HR and Organization Development professional in Reckitt Benckiser, a leading fast moving consumer goods company and World Vision International, one of the largest humanitarian organization where she leveraged her expertise in change management and leadership development to bring about transformational change in these organizations.
Fenny currently is a volunteer board member of Tirzah International, a Christian NGO, which works alongside local partners in Africa, Asia and South America to champion against modern slavery, oppression and poverty of women worldwide. She obtained her PhD in International Business Management from the University of South Australia, and received her M.A. in Educational Leadership (specializing in HR Development) from Western Michigan University. She has published articles in People & Strategy, Journal of Global Mobility and Coaching World. Fenny is fluent in English and proficient in Mandarin (Putonghua), Bahasa Melayu and Cantonese.
