Dr. Jane Horan
Dr. Jane Horan is an expert in cross cultural leadership and career transitions. She helps organisations build inclusive workplaces and working with individuals on career transitions. Jane is an internationally recognized speaker and author of I Wish I’d Known That Earlier in My Career: The Power of Positive Workplace Politics, a business book used by corporate universities and career coaches globally. She is also the author of How Asian Women Lead: Lessons for Global Corporations, based on her doctoral research, using storytelling to show new perspectives on the future of leadership and careers. Her next book, The Art of Career Navigation, will be published in 2017.
Jane has written articles on women leaders, office politics and career transitions for Bloomberg Business Week, Human Resource Review, Quartz, The Economist Intelligence Unit, South China Morning Post, Straits Times and other publications.
With over 20 years of work experience with companies such as Kraft, Disney and GE, Jane uses her work knowledge to help organisations build inclusive and engaged workplaces. Her consulting work includes firms such as: BP, Credit Suisse, HSBC, Barclays, Morgan Stanley, KKR, Covidien, HP, McDonalds, Microsoft, Monsanto, Jones Lang LaSalle, Syngenta, SingTel, Toshiba, VMWare, Equinix, Hogan Lovells, the ADB, the ILO, and others.
Through her advisory work, coaching and workshops, by recognizing what matters most to succeed, Jane provides both sound advice and practical tools to help organisations retain and engage talent.
As a coach Jane blends doctoral research and work experience in Organisational Development combining Evidence Based Coaching and Positive Psychology ensuring talented professionals achieve their full potential. She works with women to build meaningful careers through successful transitions. Using a ‘’strengths based’’ approach, Jane’s coaching is based on her academic research with women leaders.
She is a Senior Researcher in gender equality with Hong Kong University, Senior Fellow with the Conference Board, adjunct professor with the California Institute of Integral Studies, lectured at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore, Chinese University of Hong Kong and Singapore Management University.
Jane has lived, worked and studied in the US, China and Hong Kong, and holds an Educational Doctorate from Bristol University. She resides in Singapore.
